Obviously it’s been a while – now that I’ve graduated (!) and have a lot of time on my hands, I’ve started up a new blog – Graduate Gourmande.  Please head over there and switch your subscriptions!

I know I have been absent, but for good reason – I’ve been having a life! Yes, I almost forgot what it was like to go out and have fun and be busy (in a good way!) I’ve been loving being back at school the past few days, which is definitely bittersweet. When I wasn’t loving school last semester, I was happy to be graduating in May. Now, I am definitely feeling nostalgic and sad about leaving this place and my sorority. I don’t have very many pictures of my eats, because they’ve been in the dining hall, on the go, or taken with my Blackberry – and of this, I will spare you. Until I can get back into the swing of living and blogging, I give you a review for Chocolate PB2!

Oh, and, since I became obsessed with PB2 and ran out of my sad little two sample pack, I ordered my jar. I think it’s in the mailroom waiting for me now. Friday just got better.

Chocolate PB2 with frozen strawberries

Chocolate PB2 Opinion
Taste:  More peanut buttery than chocolatey, but definitely not chocolate peanut butter. Also, not great but not horrible. 2/5.
Texture: Drier than regular PB2. I had to add about 2 tablespoons of water, not the suggested 1.5, and it was still off. 2/5.
Fill Factor: With the strawberries, held me over for about 5 hours! 5/5.
Ingredients: “Roasted peanuts, cocoa powder, sugar and salt.” Like PB2, nothing funky at all! Could do without the sugar, but no biggie. 4/5.
Nutrition: Per 2 tablespoons, 51 calories, 1.29g of fat (.23g from sat fat and <.01g from trans fat), <.1mg cholesterol, 75.5mg sodium, 5.9g carbs (1.87g from fiber, 3.63g from sugar) and 3.98g protein. 4/5.
Overall: Overall, I was just not a fan of chocolate PB2 and won’t be ordering it again. 2/5.

If you want to order PB2 and/or Chocolate PB2, head over to their newly redesigned website here. I just found the new site a second ago and am super impressed! It makes the company seem a lot more legitimate than their previous 1990s-esque site. And it’s pretty!
On the schedule for today: class from 10-10:50, work from 11-2, gym with one of my sisters, and a relaxing night at the house with my little and a few other girls. I’ve gone out the past two nights and am taking the weekend off. Yes, my life is backwards. Anything special planned for today?

P.S. My Google reader is now in the 200s. EPIC BLOG FAIL. Will be back to commenting as soon as I can, I promise!

I’ll be back tomorrow afternoon/night, after a crazy day of moving back into school but including my favorite activity of grocery shopping. In other news, I just ate the best (and seedless!) orange EVER and am currently watching Over the Hedge. It is animated and revolves around talking animals. Also, Sherlock Holmes is really, really great! See it! The fact that it included Rachel McAdams and Jude Law was only a plus. A large one.

I’ll have a real, full post up later tonight or tomorrow. Yesterday morning I found out one of my friends from high school passed away a few days ago, so I’ve been dealing with that – spending time with friends and going into the city today for her service. This has really woken me up to a lot things, for a lot of reasons. If you pray, please keep my friends and her loved ones in your head. If not, that’s okay too, I’m not much of a prayer myself. Just think good thoughts. I hope you all take some time today to live and to enjoy and appreciate what we are given each day.

Hola bloggies! Happy New Year! I hope you all had a great night celebrating. For me, ringing in the new year consisted of watching the Thin Man series with my parents, mucho snackage, and blog reading. Considering how hectic and stressful this year has been, I was happy to see it go not gonna lie.

Of course, 2009 had its high points as well.

Turning 21 with my new hurrcut. Why bangs, why?

Then, of course, deciding to get healthy, rejoining my gym, discovering the food/healthy living blogging community (thanks to Nicole!), discovering Whole Foods, losing 30 lbs. – far from the usual.
The best part of 2009 was discovering all the new foods:

Spinach, hummus, raisin sandwich a la Amy.
Crackwich, adapted from MamaPea
Sweet potato with plain Greek yogurt and black beans
Whole Foods hot bar

2010 is definitely going to be an interesting year that I’m looking forward to – graduating college, and uh .. I don’t know what else. For the first time, I have no idea where I’ll be a year from now. Scary!
Goals for 2010:

  • Graduate
  • Figure out what I want to do with my life
  • Stay healthy
  • Keep running
  • Run a race or two
  • Try even more new foods!
  • Find a job I love
  • Save $$ for a car/apartment/puppy

Off to make the first breakfast of the new year!

Currently I am:

  • Eating popcorn with salt and parm
  • Drinking hot chocolate
  • Watching “South Park,” when I should be watching Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and Away We Go, but Netflix failed me
  • Proud that I did both yoga and gym-cardio today and yesterday
  • Praying that the snow that just started and was supposed to begin five hours ago doesn’t legitimately snow me in because I am out of Greek yogurt, Chobani, sandwich thins, spinach, and Kashi Heart to Heart – staples of my diet
  • Realizing that I am in a food rut. Again.
  • Apologizing for my boring, repetitive food of late and therefore, the lack of boring pictures.
  • Sad that my mom put away my entire food crate before I got to snap obsessive pictures of everything I hoard to show you. Here’s an idea:

Tea problem? Yes, I think so.

Pumpkin Spice Chai, Candy Cane Lane, Vanilla Chai, Sweet Cinnamon Spice, Yogi Bedtime Tea, Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride, Earl Grey, Green Tea.

Symptoms Include:

  • Dreams about Paul Bunyan, Alexander Pope, and/or Jonathan Swift .. since they and their philosophies all run together in my head, I can’t distinguish them even in my dreams.
  • Your body wanting to wake up at 5:30 and not go back to sleep.
  • But your alarm was set for 6 anyway
  • Discovering that there are actually seats at Starbucks .. at 6:30am.
  • Witnessing the library custodians empty the same trash cans at least 8 times a day, even though all that’s in there is a gum wrapper.
  • Seeing the sun come up and set two days in a row, without ever actually being outside.
  • Watching your Google Reader slowly climb into triple digits and become more stressed out about catching up with that than with your British Literature final in an hour and a half …
  • Paying $6 a day to park in the nearby garage rather than walk a mile to the library in the dark, cold, icy hour before the sun rises, and the many hours after it sets.
  • Being two weeks away from turning 22, but still wearing your hair in pigtails.
  • Honestly having more of a desire to get the world’s lowest GPA than stay here another second.
  • Making lists that have nothing to do with school, but instead are an excuse to update your blog, make your Christmas list, and set some goals for winter break: sleep, watch “Julie and Julia,” sleep, re-read “Wicked,” watch the entire series of “The OC”, etc.
  • Homicidal thoughts towards all those who are done, or close to it.
  • Packing this snack bag for every craving you could possibly get during your 14+ hours in the library:
Luna bars, apricots, trail mix, hot chocolate, TrueVia packets, tea, and a mini Clif bar
