I love bars.  Larabars, Clif Bars, Kashi bars, any bar!  This is a list of the ones I’ve tried and how I feel about them.

Larabars:
Apple Pie – This is definitely based on a granny smith apple – my favorite kind!  Tart and fruity, it’s great to split in half for a pre-workout snack in the morning or as a quick breakfast on the go.  The crunch of almonds and walnuts is a great complement to the chewiness of the rest of the bar.  4.5/5.

Cashew Cookie – Definitely not my favorite.  Subtle cashew flavor, soft, chewy, nutty, but nothing special.  Full review here. 2/5.

Key Lime Pie – Really good!  Refreshing, if that makes sense.  Sweet and citrusy, but could use a little more lime flavor.  Full review here5/5.

Peanut Butter Cookie – I think this bar is underrated.  I really like it – maybe it’s not exactly like a peanut butter cookie, but it’s still delicious!  Sweet, salty, chewy, and crunchy – it covers all bases.  4/5.

Peanut Butter and Jelly – Best. Bar. Ever.  5/5.

Clif Bars:
Carrot Cake
– Eh.  Not horrible, but not a piece of carrot cake.  Probably won’t buy it again.  2/5.

Chocolate Brownie – Chocolately and ok tasting in its own, non-brownie like way.  3/5.

Chocolate Chip – Tastes just like a chocolate chip cookie!  Except chewy and not so buttery … 4/5.

Cool Mint Chocolate – Mmmm tastes just like a Thin Mint!  5/5.

Crunchy Peanut Butter – Pretty good peanutty flavor, there’s no crunch!  I prefer the PB cookie Larabar to this.  3/5.

Clif Z-Bars:
Chocolate Brownie – Definitely better than the regular Clif bar version of Chocolate Brownie, but still doesn’t live up to the name.  Maybe if I had heated it up … 3.5/5.

Chocolate Chip – SO GOOD!  Tastes like a Fiber One Oats and Chocolate Chip bar, but better and healthier!  Addicting.  5/5.

Spooky S’mores – I loved it!  Tastes just like the chocolate chip one (my addiction) with marshmallow.  And who  wouldn’t welcome a marshmallowy addition to chocolate?  5.5

Luna Bars:
LemonZest – This is a bar I keep buying!  I love the lemon flavor – it’s just right – not too sweet, not too sour.  Tastes just like a chewy lemon bar.  It does leave a lemony aftertaste, but I still give it 5/5.

Chocolate Peppermint Stick – I’m eating a Thin Mint.  5/5.

White Chocolate Macadamia – Like a nutty, white chocolatey rice krispy treat!  Full review here. 4/5.

Clif Mojo:
Mountain Mix – This is my favorite bar EVER!  All the best parts of trail mix – chocolate chips, almonds, raisins, and peanuts.  Peanut buttery-chocolately-nutty-raisiny-goodness in one delicious and fairly low-calorie bar.  5/5.

Peanut Butter Pretzel – Great combo of sweety, salty, and savory.  I also wish I was eating a Mountain Mix bar though.  3/5.

Kashi:
GoLean Roll – Chocolate Turtle- Very tough and chewy.  Definitely tastes like a protein bar, but I’d give it another chance since mine was past the date on the wrapper.  2/5

TLC Fruit & Grain Bars – Raspberry Chocolate – I usually really like the chocolate/raspberry combo but I wasn’t the biggest fan.  Still good, just not my taste.  2.5/5.

TLC Fruit & Grain Bars – Pumpkin Pie – Loveee it!  So fall-y and pumpkin-y and delicious!  5/5.

TLC Crunchy Granola Bars – Honey Toasted 7 Grain – So yummy!  It reminds me of my old favorite Nature Valley Oats and Honey granola bars – but without the sketchy ingredients.  Great addition to a fruit and yogurt bowl or on its own!  5/5.

  1. I’m so glad I found this! I’ve been trying to start eating more bars for on the go snacks, and since they can be pricey I’m never sure which ones to buy. The Kashi Honey Toasted is a favorite of mine, too!
